Current Research Interests

Theoretical and Computational Physics, Metallic Glasses, Phase Separation, Nanomaterials, Nanoquasicrystal-glass composites, Crystallization behavior, Rapid Solidification, Phase Transformations, Mechanical properties, Magnetic properties.

Instruments Handled / Acquaintance / Training

  1. Experience on Metallic Glass preparation using Solid State Diffusion, Rapid Solidification and Rapid Solidification followed by annealing and synthesis of metallic glass through rapid solidification technique.
  2. Expert in structural characterization using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques
  3. Handling of various vacuum systems.
  4. Handling of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and differential thermal analyser (DTA)
  5. Handling of SHIMADZU HMV-2T Micro-indentation tester and Nano-indentation using Hysitron Triboscope 4 with a Berkovich indenter.
  6. Expertise in RF induction melting of various materials.
  7. Twin Jet Polisher (Struer’s Tenupol-5)
  8. Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM)
  9.  Basic knowledge of many scientific software packages (e.g. Origin, MS Office etc) for analysis of    data.
